Seven Residential and Nursing Homes in the parish are visited monthly by church members who operate in teams of two or three. The visits take the form of a short service of Holy Communion. Residents welcome these acts of worship as well as the social contact and conversations that take place afterwards.

Residents enjoy singing well-known hymns. Readings from the Bible, followed by brief reflections, gives an opportunity to share the Christian faith with those who may have never heard or considered the good news of Jesus Christ. In this respect the ministry is part of the mission and outreach of the church as well as providing Christian fellowship and encouragement for established and mature Christians in Residential and Nursing Homes.

Spontaneity and humour as well as a sense of God’s presence are some of the hallmarks of this ministry.
