Have you or your fiancé(e) become a member of the St Jude’s Church Electoral Roll through regular worship at the church for at least 6 months?
Recently the General Synod of the Church of England have voted to make the above criteria less restrictive so that ‘residential qualification’ can be based on ‘other family contacts in the Parish’ e.g. you may have a grandparent or uncle who could vouch for residential status. Also regularity of worship can be interpreted quite sympathetically; for example, ‘regular’ could be attendance once per month.
Whilst our desire is to encourage people to come along week by week and capture the joy of worship and praise of the Living God, nevertheless we seek always to provide appropriate ‘stepping stones’ for couples seeking ‘marriage the Christian way.’ At St Jude’s we seek to prepare couples for more than just the ‘Wedding Day Service’ but for Marriage itself, trusting that this will be lifelong, eventful and fruitful. To that end we also provide The Marriage Course for those who have been married from 2 or more years who want to deepen their lifelong relationships with one another. |
